Who is TFR Electrical?

Personalised service is what you will get from TFR electrical, that stands for Tane and Fiona Rogers.

I joined the army in January 1993 and later on started my apprenticeship with the Royal New Zealand Engineers, the highlight of which was working on the construction of The Sir Edmond Hillary Outdoor Pursuit Centre in National Park and meeting Sir Ed personally. After completing my trade I had the opportunity to travel with the Army to Papua New Ginea and East Timor. Leaving the Army in 2003 with a solid training in the electrical industry I spent 10 years working in Palmerston North polishing my practical skills and learning new business skills.

I moved to Oamaru with my family in 2012 where I have continued to build on my electrical skills.
Since moving to the Oamaru I have been given the opportunity to join the Oamaru Volunteer Fire Brigade and more recently St John. I find volunteering for these two organisations rewarding and I feel it is a privilege to serve my community this way.

TFR Electrical was launched with the intent to provide excellent and personal service.

My mission is to liase with customers personally to ensure the customer gets the electrical work they require, by only dealing with myself, I can guarantee a continuous and professional service.

Safety tips for around the home

  • Spray for ants regularly to avoid an infestation in your power points and light switches.
  • Don't run extension leads across rooms, get extra power points installed.
  • Don't overload multi boxes with high current draw items such as heaters as this may cause fires.
  • If you decide to DIY your lights, disconnect the power by pulling the appropriate fuse instead of turning off the light switch as sometimes the power stays on at the light fitting.
  • Always use a RCD or isolating transformer when working with power outside.
